Specter. October 2015.

The new “digital” evil.

This is my last photoshop composition essentially representing the “good” guys vs. the “bad” ones.

There are key photographic elements to this work: First the appearance or disappearance of the shooter, from a digital dashboard. I paired her with some kind of action or fight scene, represented by the Aston-Martin emerging from an explosion. Then, the shot itself, the”puff” of smoke. Though one can’t see the bullet, one assumes there is one which is going to kill the main character “anytime” now. This contradicts our traditional logic because we know, or are conditioned to assume, that the “good” guy never dies; so one wants to think he’ll find out a way out of this one, but it’s hard to see how. So, come watch the movie… (Which is the purpose of this poster). I also psychologically associated the left with a red tint and the right with a blue one. But I tried to balance it with the title words: Specter and 007. I felt I should put another element on the right to balance the action from the left, but that digital maze seemed complex enough. This vacuum does have the effect of highlighting the name.

Against all odds...

Against all odds…

This is a composite of several photos, with hue, shadows, 3D text and beveling added.
I started with several characters, that after applying some adjusting layers, and adding a nuclear holocaust background, looked very dystopia or “Terminator” like.
I decided to change the name from what another student suggested, “Inhuman” representing the awful living conditions of a distant future, to something that reflected the struggle of the central character, the boy. I titled it “Alive” in part for what it means to live in the middle of total chaos and destruction and in part as a reminder of the movie “Alive” about survivors of an airplane crush back in the ’70s in the Andes. To me they represented what it means to have hope against all odds, and succeed in the end.

A conspiracy theory suggests that the collapse of the World Trade Center towers 1, 2 and 7 were the result of a controlled demolition rather than structural weakening due to fire. Another prominent belief is that the Pentagon was hit by a missile launched by elements from inside the U.S. government and that it was allowed to do so via an effective standdown of the American military.

The motives cited are to justify the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, and the protection of American oil companies’ interests in the Middle East.

The most prominent conspiracy theories can be broadly divided into two main forms:

– LI-HOP (“Let it happen on purpose”) – suggests that key individuals within the government had at least some foreknowledge of the attacks and deliberately ignored them or actively weakened America’s defenses to ensure the hijacked flights were not intercepted.

– MI-HOP (“Make/Made it happen on purpose”) – that key individuals within the government planned the attacks and collaborated with, or framed, al-Qaeda in carrying them out. There is a range of opinions about how this might have been achieved.

In a secret document from 1962, named “Operation Northwoods” and made public on 18 November 1997, was a plan presented by the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, to President J.F. Kennedy. The plan called for covert operatives to commit genuine acts of terrorism in U.S. cities, and to blame them on Cuban Communists, justifying subsequently an invasion of Cuba. J.F.K. rejected the proposal and fired Chief of Staff Lyman Lemnitzer. “Operation Northwoods” is a precursor of the 9/11 attacks, which were carried out as a false flag operation, which was then blamed on Islamic extremists instead, justifying the invasion of Afghanistan.

In 2006, scholars for “9/11 Truth” argued that a group of US neo-conservatives called the Project for a New American Century (PNAC), which included Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, set on US world dominance orchestrated the 9/11 attacks as an excuse to hit Afghanistan, Iraq and in the future Iran. In September 2000 the PNAC released a strategic treatise entitled Rebuilding America’s Defences. Dr. David Griffin in his 2004 book “The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11” argued that the treatise may have been the blueprint for 9/11 attacks. Specifically the language in the paper that read “the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor” was describing an alleged motive.

The Basis for a Conspiracy:

It has been claimed that action or inaction by U.S. officials with foreknowledge was intended to ensure that the attacks took place successfully. For example, an FBI supervisor involved in the investigation into Zacarias Moussaoui sent a message in August, 2001 to his superiors in Washington that he was “trying to keep someone from taking a plane and crashing into the World Trade Center.”
San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, who was booked to fly to New York on 9/11 got a call from what he described as his airport security — a full eight hours before the terrorist attacks — advising him that Americans should be cautious about their air travel.
Larry Silverstein, a businessman from New York obtained a 99 year lease on the entire world trade center complex on 24 July, 2001. The towers were mostly unoccupied and nearly worthless, requiring constant repairs and being filled with asbestos, yet Larry “felt a compelling urge to own them”. Larry had breakfast in “Windows on the World” restaurant (107th Floor North Tower) every single morning, but he was absent from this routine meeting on the morning of September the 11th. Larry’s two children, who also worked in the WTC, conveniently decided to take the day off as well. Larry Silverstein received more than $4.5 Billion in insurance money as a result of the destruction of his complex.

Suspected insider trading
Just before 9/11 there was an “extraordinary” amount of put options placed on United Airlines and American Airlines stocks. Authorities believed, and some conspiracy theorists continue to maintain, that trading insiders may have known in advance of the coming events of 9/11 and placed their bets accordingly.

Air Defense Stand Down
A common claim is that the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) issued a stand down order or deliberately scrambled fighters late to allow the hijacked airplanes to reach their targets without interference. According to this theory, NORAD had the capability of locating and intercepting planes on 9/11, and its failure to do so indicates a government conspiracy to allow the attacks to occur.

Soon after the day of the attacks, major media sources published that the towers had collapsed due to melted steel. Knowledge that the burning temperatures of jet fuel (1700 degrees) would not melt the steel (2700 degrees) support structure of the WTC contributed to the belief among skeptics that the towers would not have collapsed without external interference (something other than the planes).
Demolition theory proponents, such as Brigham Young University physicist Steven E. Jones, architect Richard Gage, software engineer Jim Hoffman, and theologian David Ray Griffin, argue that the aircraft impacts and resulting fires could not have weakened the buildings sufficiently to initiate a catastrophic collapse, and that the buildings would not have collapsed completely, nor at the speeds that they did, without additional energy involved to weaken their structures. Unanimously, they say the collapse of the North Tower, South Tower, or of 7 World Trade Center was caused by explosives installed in the buildings in advance.
Jones also stated that molten steel found in the rubble was evidence of explosives, as an ordinary airplane fire would not generate enough heat to produce this, citing photographs of red debris being removed by construction equipment.

The Pentagon
The U.S. Defense System did not shoot down a plane that was heading for the Pentagon. Some people contend that no plane hit the Pentagon at all, instead, they argue that the Pentagon was hit by a missile launched by elements from inside the U.S. government. Reopen911.org says that the holes in the Pentagon walls were far too small to have been made by a Boeing 757: “How does a plane 125 ft. wide and 155 ft. long fit into a hole which is only 60 ft. across?”
Confiscated video recordings from the Sheraton National Hotel, the Citgo gas station as well as videos from the Pentagon security cameras and the Virginia Department of Transportation, released to the public through the Freedom of Information Act in Dec. 2004, shows the image of what appears in the videos and has been described as “white blob” and “a white streak” (by the BBC), “a thin white blur” (by The Associated Press), and “a silver speck low to the ground” (in The Washington Post) not American Airlines Flight 77 measuring hundreds of feet in length.

Five of the alleged hijackers may have received training at U.S. military facilities. The Defense Department confirmed that three of the hijackers, Mohamed Atta, Abdulaziz al-Omari and Saeed al-Ghamdi, “have the same names as alumni of American military schools.” A Mohamed Atta attended the International Officers School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama; an Abdulaziz al-Omari went to the Aerospace Medical School at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas; and a Saeed al-Ghamdi was at the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio in Monterey, California.

Bin Laden tapes
In a tape released in December 2001 known as ‘the Jalalabad tape’ the speaker is alleged to have foreknowledge of the attacks. The Central Intelligence Agency claimed the tape was probably from Osama bin Laden. Members of “Scholars for 9/11 Truth” believe that the man in this videotape is not Osama bin Laden at all, citing differences in weight and facial features, along with his wearing of a gold ring, which is forbidden by Muslim law, and writing with his right hand although bin Laden is left-handed.
Prof. Gernot Rotter, professor of Islamic and Arabic Studies at the University of Hamburg said “The American translators who listened to the tapes and transcribed them apparently wrote a lot of things in that they wanted to hear but that cannot be heard on the tape no matter how many times you listen to it.”

Alex Jones and other radio and tv personalities hold that 9/11 was initiated by a conglomerate of banking, corporate and military interests for the purpose of creating a globalist government, i.e. “A New World Order” as announced by G.W. Bush Senior to the US Congres on Sept. 11th, 1991.

With this war the Federal Reserve has lent trillions of dollars to the US Congress to be given to the Defense Department for the War Against Terror.

As President General D. Eisenhower warned us in 1961: We must guard against the presence of the Military Industrial Complex.

Welcome to America…

I’m happy I can be accepted and be myself in tis beautiful caountrie. I speacko no Inglis so fery good. No matter. Most americans speacko improper Inglis also. Not only they can’t speacko conventionally but they can’t spelloh either.

After 28 years here, I’ve noticed that the majority of Americans are what in my native caountrie we would call a “lower class” who aren’t interested in Mozart or Nietzsche, but only on their paychecks, what’s for dinner and what’s on TV. I think here they are referred to by other names, as well.

However, what’s so beautiful about America is that everybody hearbouts has the right to exist. Here, whether being born lower, middle or upper class, fat or thin, of any color, or nationality, for that matter, we all have the same rights and privileges. For instance, people whose introductory interjections are “Howdy”, or “Wazzah” aren’t ostracized for their lack of proper diction, are they? In fact, to the contrary, they are gladly accepted among their peers, and considered cool.

What’s even more beautiful about this caountrie is that foreigners are still welcomed. They bring their unique idiosyncrasies to this “Melting Pot” and a healthy variety of color to the gene pool as well.

Sadly though, I must report that this is changing nowadays. Unless you are Scandinavian, and by that I mean white, blonde and blue eyed, you would be subtly and quietly blamed for every ill of society, and specially the high unemployment and every other economic problem. That is to say, if you are short, black haired and tanned, you could become what is also known as a scapegoat, for our only ticket to respect would be your confidence in yourself and your education, but most importantly, on the size of your wallet.

It’s a joke nowadays to see tipsy father O’Maley ask of Mr. Kim how is it going with the laundry business, not knowing that Mr. Kim is a surgeon, who had just saved a few of his parishioners’ lives the previous Saturday night. And, when somebody whispers to poor old father “Mr. Kim is a heart doctor, father…”, he soberly thinks to himself “oops!” but without really going back to apologize to blushing Dr. Kim.

For the most part, if I had to report on what the situation is, as far as human rights, here in the States, I’d say it’s still great, in spite of everything.
